"I first started working with Rachel after being diagnosed with arthritis in my back and discovered she was teaching her famous 'Yoga for Backs' course at my workplace. From 2018 to March 2020, I took part in weekly classes facilitated by Rachel and was able to get immense relief from chronic back pain almost immediately. I thoroughly enjoyed the classroom setting with Rachel; her gentle humour, her calm, soothing presence and concerned manner she has with all students, both long-time yogi’s and newcomers. She had endless patience with questions and for adjustments, spending time with any student who required specific direction, while still able to keep the rest of us moving. Unfortunately, the pandemic stopped all in person classes in March 2020.
In June 2020, I was rear-ended by a semi at a red light, incurring whiplash. After months of physio and massage, with frustratingly slow progress, I reached out to Rachel to see if she could help. We agreed on a weekly one hour session over seven weeks, during which time Rachel built multiple programs for me to use at home, each with a specific purpose. As my job requires I spend most of my time at a computer, she also built me exercises to complete during work hours, a pre-driving set of exercises and even a gentle evening routine to wind down before bed. Within a short period of time, I began to feel significant relief from the constant pain, which I attribute to the work I did with Rachel. She would check in with me during the week and if I had a new or stubborn issue she would immediately send me updated information or have suggestions at our next session; she also took the time to explain which muscle groups we were working on and how specific exercises helped with troublesome areas. Just being in Rachel’s presence calmed me down and I always looked forward to our sessions together and was sorry to see them end.
I highly recommend Rachel for all your yoga needs, but specifically if you have any back issues or chronic pain."

I have attended Rachel’s class consistently for about 5-6 years. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for Yoga is infectious and will have you loving coming back to your mat!. It has certainly inspired a greater passion for my own practice. I love how she is able to incorporate an element of play and exploration into the flow so that I always feel like I am improving and working towards something challenging, and I can have fun, that Yoga doesn’t have to be so serious. She can do this in a way where a class with a wide range of experience can all find success and growth, no matter what level they are at. I always feel like I got success, even if I am far away from the Peak pose. Rachel has seen me through my many injuries and is always able to provide many modifications while I heal and then provide adjustments and modifications for me to deepen my practice. Her subtle questions of “how would it feel if you do this? Or if I move you this way?” has helped me create my own body awareness of alignment and proper technique that I am able to incorporate in solo practices. I am so grateful for the time, attention, and energy I have received from Rachel over the years. Thank You, Rachel, Namaste.

"Rachel is extremely welcoming, kind and non-judgmental. I am most appreciative of her vast knowledge that she brings to the practice. She acknowledges my limitations, works with the limitations so that I derive the benefit of the practice gaining more flexibility, strength, mobility and self awareness. After every practice I feel refreshed both physically and mentally. Rachel's upbeat personality always makes my day."

"I am just LOVING Rachel’s yoga classes! She one of the most creative, intelligent, delightful yoga teachers I’ve ever had the pleasure of practicing with! In her classes find myself laughing out loud, discovering strength and movement I didn’t know I had, and am often guided effortlessly into a pose a never thought I’d be able to do. Now you can all tap into her greatness! Find her online at Rachel Ann Yoga and Yoga in Bowness (by far my favorite studio)."
